The Baltimore Ravens are doing something different with a former New England Patriots quarterback whose playmaking potential garnered some attention last season.
The Ravens are officially converting Malik Cunningham to wide receiver, according to the team’s roster. The former Louisville quarterback appears set to compete for a roster spot at the receiver position instead.
Malik Cunningham is now officially listed as a WR (not QB) on the Ravens' roster, btw. He made that look like the right call today with several grabs.

Cunningham is still an intriguing prospect, even though he went undrafted and is already on his second NFL team. The Patriots supposedly had a package of plays drawn up for him in 2023, though they never actually made use of them during a game. The Ravens signed Cunningham off the Patriots’ practice squad last December, with some of his teammates seemingly feeling like he did not get a fair shot from Bill Belichick.
Lamar Jackson is known to be a fan of Cunningham’s talent. Now he could be throwing to his Louisville successor.
