The Dallas Cowboys are coming off yet another disappointing playoff exit, and Jerry Jones has vowed to do everything he can to make sure that does not happen again next season — even if it means sacrificing the future.
Jones made a bold statement on Tuesday about how he views the Cowboys heading into 2024. The 81-year-old team owner said he plans to go “all in” and that fans should not expect Dallas to look too far toward the future.
“We will be going all in,” Jones said, via Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I would say that you will see us this coming year not build it for the future.”

The Cowboys are coming off their third consecutive 12-5 season. They have won just one playoff game during that stretch. Many thought Jones would fire head coach Mike McCarthy following the team’s embarrassing loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round, but McCarthy will be back next season.
Both McCarthy and quarterback Dak Prescott have one season remaining on their contracts. While there has been talk of Prescott receiving a massive new deal, Jones’ comments on Tuesday may be an indication that the Cowboys will make more short-term moves this offseason. If they fall short of expectations again next year, it is possible there will be major changes.
Jones is not getting any younger. He knows he does not have many opportunities left to capture another Super Bowl ring. His comments on Tuesday combined with his reaction to the Green Bay loss may signal that the Cowboys are going to make headlines in the coming months.
