Kadarius Toney went on social media hours before the AFC Championship Game on Sunday and appeared to accused the Kansas City Chiefs of lying about his status.
In a vulgar rant on Instagram Live, Toney seemed to unload on the Chiefs for making him inactive for a sixth consecutive game. The team announced on Saturday that Toney would not play against the Baltimore Ravens due to a hip injury and a “personal” situation.
Toney said he is “not hurt” and called the injury designation “cap,” which is slang for lying.
“That s— cap. I’m not hurt, none of that s—. Save that s—. … It go from hip [injury] to ankle to this to that. I’m in a body cast right now at this point, huh? F— outta here,” Toney said.
You can hear a portion of the rant below, but beware that it contains inappropriate language:

Reports have indicated that Toney welcomed his first child, a daughter, on Saturday. Though, the hip injury was supposedly the reason he was not active for Sunday’s game.
Many have speculated that Toney’s recent string of inactives has more to do with his play this season than his health. The last time the former first-round pick played was when the Chiefs beat the New England Patriots in Week 15. He had a brutal dropped pass in that game that led to an interception (video here). The week before, Toney committed a crucial blunder that cost Kansas City a win against the Buffalo Bills.
If Toney is not hurt, it is possible the Chiefs were trying to protect his reputation by giving him an injury designation rather than making him a healthy scratch. Needless to say, he did not appreciate the gesture.
